How do I search using OneSearch?

Answer

If you're searching from the library's home page, you're using OneSearch! Use keywords related to your topic (i.e. climate change), and OneSearch will automatically return results that frequently include those terms or phrases. It's not unusual for searches to return thousands of results, but you can refine your results using the options on the left side of the screen to narrow down by:

  • Available in the Library
  • Peer-reviewed/scholarly
  • Full-text online
  • Material type (e.g. book, journal, article, newspaper, reference entry)
  • Date
  • and more!

OneSearch results for peer-reviewed articles on climate change with Refine my results panel highlighted.

For a more specific search, use the Advanced Search option. When available, resources links will direct you where you can find the full text online or as a PDF in a database or online subscription.
