Q. How can I create permanent links to JSTOR .pdf articles?

I want to revisit an article I found in JSTOR. How do I create a link to get back to it?

Answer

You can make permanent URLs to get back to specific JSTOR articles (.pdfs), even if you're off campus. You simply need to add our library proxy information to the JSTOR stable (bookmark) URL for the article. Upon clicking the proxied link, you are routed through the MyCSUDH portal, which allows JSTOR to recognize you as an authorized CSUDH user.

The library proxy is:

http://libproxy.csudh.edu/login?url=

And here's how you add it to a JSTOR stable URL:

http://libproxy.csudh.edu/login?url=http://www.jstor.org/stable/25634850

Example of where to get the stable JSTOR URL:
